I thought I’d make a super simple and cute box to send to a friend or significant other!
I’ve been thinking about this box for a while and actually purchased the “What I Love About Us” book from Urban Outfitters back in October.
This book is an incredibly sweet and small journal containing 50 fill-in-the-blank sentences ranging from “We would make the best _______ team ever” to “I love our _____”. The company (named) Knock Knock also makes several other books/notepads/sticky notes that can be given to friends, parents, roommates, whatever! It’s a really great way to get something small that has a lot of meaning.
I bought a “Love You To The Moon” sign from Paper Source. I have the box version in my dorm room for jewelry, and I’ve given other similar signs to friends.
The company is called Primitives by Kathy and they have endless amounts of pillows, home decor, holiday and so much more. These gifts are perfect for anyone in your life.
The red and white bags shown behind the sign are from the dollar section of Target (similar to this pack).
For filler, I bought a pack of colorful paper and cut out red, pink, and white hearts. I recommend cutting a few sheets at a time and varying the size of your hearts.
Cutting the hearts is simple and adds a nice “Valentine’s Day” touch. I only cut out a handful but you can cut more to fill the box completely.
I purchased the doily pack from Paper Source and glued them to the flaps of the box for detail.
I added small felt stickers that came with this felt envelope kit pictured below on the right.
The packages are labeled “Day 14” because they’re part of a Valentine’s Day countdown. I added 14 cards to the box, one for each day leading up to Feb. 14 plus the two presents as a final surprise.
This is a great way to do a countdown no matter the occasion. If you’re doing a box for a friend or significant other, you can send a similar countdown until the next time you see them. For example, if you are seeing your S.O. in 3 weeks, you can send 21 Hershey’s Kisses (one for each day) and by the time they’re gone you’ll be together again.
