Recipe type: Dessert
Cuisine: American
Serves: 15 people
  • 1 box cake mix
  • 1 container frosting
  • 1 teaspoon vegetable shortening
  • 1 box craft sticks
  • 1 container sprinkles
  • 2-3 bags of Wilton's candy melts
  1. Bake your cake and allow to cool completely.
  2. With your fingers, crumble the cake in a large bowl into small pieces.
  3. Add in the frosting and mix together with your hands until 'dough' forms.
  4. Shape into 1-inch balls and place onto cookie sheets.
  5. Microwave the candy melts as directed on bag (I used Wilton's). Add in shortening until the mixture is smooth and runs off the spoon.
  6. Dip the craft sticks into the melt and place into cake balls.
  7. Freeze for 10 minutes.
  8. Dip cake balls into the melt until completely covered. Allow excess to drip off.
  9. Decorate as desired.
Be sure to account for ingredients required in cake mix if you aren't making the cake from scratch.
