Flashback to middle school when I was absolutely positive I’d own a smoothie shop when I grew up. My favorite way to start a day has always been with a smoothie, especially in the summer time. If you go through frozen fruit like I do, it can get pretty pricey.
I’ve become an expert at finding the best deals on frozen fruit. I was originally picking up frozen fruit at Whole Foods but quickly realized I was only getting 10 oz worth of fruit for more than $4 as compared to 12 oz worth of fruit from Trader Joe’s for less than $3. My local Trader Joe’s even has a 24 oz bag of sliced mangoes (amazing). I know there is some debate about pricing/what’s best, so if you’re looking to save $$ do some investigating based on where you live.
Another money saving suggestion would be purchasing the fruit when it’s cheaper (aka in season) and freezing it. My local Whole Foods was having a 2 for $10 sale on 32 oz cartons of strawberries so I stocked up and froze them. I love strawberry season….
